How To play:
The aim of the game:
The primary aim of Catcha Catcha Aliens is to catch the minimum amount of aliens for each level. Once the minimum amount of aliens has been caught the next level will unlock.
New planets are unlocked once all levels on previous planets are completed or once the required number of stars has been acquired.
Stars are gained from completing Mini-Challenges present on each level.
To catch an invader you simply run up behind them.
This is made difficult, as the invaders will run erratically around the terrain to avoid you and obstacles in the path. Some invaders in later levels will even drop obstacles behind them to stop you catching them.
Swiping up on the device will cause the character to jump, which can be used to dodge low lying obstacles that may litter the path or that are dropped by some invaders.
Swiping down will cause the character to duck, which if timed correctly will allow the player to slide under obstacles with gaps.
Swiping left or right at a turn will cause the character to turn left or right respectively. Swiping left or right just before a turn will cause the character to slide into the turn.
Pressing and holding anywhere on the screen of the device will cause the boost to activate granting a temporary increase in speed and invincibility. Once boost has been activated it is not necessary to continue to hold the screen and while the boost is activated the character will jump, duck and turn automatically.
Boost can be upgraded in the shop.
Double tapping the screen will activate the gadget that the player has equipped assuming it has at least one charge. Only one gadget can be equipped at once and they are purchased and upgraded in the shop.
Tilting the device left or right will cause the character to strafe left or right respectively. This will make catchinginvaders easier as you can run behind the invaders regardless of where they are on the screen. Some obstacles can also be dodged without needing to jump orduck as they can be strafed around.
As you catch invaders your multiplier will slowly increase on the left hand side of the screen (next to the score for that level). As the multiplier increases, your score will update with the new score calculated with the multiplier, however this score will only be awarded if you either complete the level or die. If you lose the multiplier (by crashing into safe corners or catching indigenous creatures) then your score will go be to its base value (I.E your actual score).
Many upgrades and outfits can be bought in the shop using Zhillings.
Zhillings are earned by catching invaders, completing levels, or completingMini-Challenges. Zhillings can also be bought with real currency in-game.
Gadgets and in-game pickups can be bought in the “Gadgets” tab. Once a gadget has been bought for the first time it can be equipped and upgraded from the same menu. In-game pickups work in a slightly different way. Once an ingame pickup has been upgraded to level 1 it will begin to appear in game randomly. Upgrading it further will increase the duration of that pickup.
From the “Outfits” tab new outfits, nets and backpacks can be purchased. They are available in themes but can be mixed and matched, for example a player can choose to purchase and wear the zombie outfit while using the ninja sword and the pirate chest back pack.
In game purchases with real currencies are made in the final tab.
The lounge functions as a character select screen. To select a character, simply tap them.
